There is one particular bar in Ohio that holds beer pong competitions every Wednesday from 9 pm until closing.
The General Manager of the bar said that he had just recently re-introduce the competition to his establishment and got rave reviews and heavy pockets, not to mention, from the action of hardcore beer pong enthusiasts. College night is on Wednesdays at the bar and the competition is geared toward college students because it is believed that they get more enjoyment out of it. Pong tables beer is the buzz around the campus on Wednesday afternoon with one team saying what they will do to the other. Some students don’t quite make it to class on Thursday mornings. I guess it’s safe to say they weren’t the winners.
As marketable and profitable pong tables beer is, some large organizations, like Anheuser-Bush are now pulling out. The company had their adaptation of beer pong called “Bud Pong” which was also successful but came under fire by anti-drinking/drunk driving organizations like MADD. Nonetheless, to avoid further misunderstandings, the company abandoned their game.
